Goodness. April. Has it really been nearly seven months?
Ironically, my most recent post was about the reason behind my absence, in which I vowed to come back to blogging for myself within the week. Then, nearly seven months came and went.
So, let’s talk about that. 🙂
My sister had a baby
In April! Meeting that sweet baby changed my life. At that point, I’m unsure I’d ever met anyone that I’d loved so much and so quickly. She was a miniature version of my very best friend (my sister), and she was the most innocent being. I wanted to hold her every second that I had to spare. This meant that in lieu of writing during my time off, I was driving back and forth to spend time with my tiny, new niece.
Then I had a baby
Words cannot describe how life has felt since I gave birth to the absolute love of my entire life. I quickly learned that there is someone that I love more dearly than my baby niece, and that is my amazing, intelligent, beautiful, sinless, angel baby of a daughter. I could spend the next couple of years trying to piece this entry together in a way that aptly describes her, but unfortunately, that’s nearly impossible. When they said that becoming a mother will change your life, they were right. I had no idea what God had in store for my husband and I. Even now, she is trying to grasp my pinky and play with me. Oh, my stars. Life is good.
I decided to quit my job
I could have ended with, “And I had a baby.” And I’m confident that anyone who reads this would shrug, nod, and say, “I get it.” But there is more to my story, and I have always been up-front with y’all. I’ll get into more detail in my next entry. In short, after speaking with his parents, my husband made an executive decision for our little family, and that was to move in with his parents and for me to leave my job. I’m so grateful for that, and now I’m able to stay with my Sophye Lynne. I have been a stay-at-home mom (SAHM) for a week now, and I LOVE it.
So now I’m back, and I can’t wait to reconnect with those I was following before my little hiatus. Also, I’d love to share my birth story, if y’all are interested. 🙂
